Age eligibility requirements

Could you please explain the reason for the 18+ age requirement? Some younger students and developers already have the skills to participate and would like to understand why the restriction is necessary.

    Thanks for reaching out! The age of majority requirement exists because prize winners must complete legal documentation (affidavits, tax forms, etc.) to receive their prize — and individuals who are not legal adults cannot legally enter into those agreements.

    We completely understand the frustration, especially for talented younger developers. If you're under the age of majority in your country, you're still welcome to build and submit a project to be featured in the Project Gallery at the end of the hackathon — your project just wouldn't be eligible for prizes.
